BFMA Code Of Practice

Although Arch Agency is not currently a BFMA member, we fully align with and adhere to the BFMA Code of Practice and the British Fashion Council’s Code of Best Practice for agencies and clients.

This ensures that the Arch Agency operates to the same standards as the UK’s leading agencies.

About the BFMA

The British Fashion Model Agents Association (BFMA) is the UK’s official trade association for the model industry. Affiliated with the British Fashion Council, it sets the benchmark for:

  • model welfare

  • ethical representation

  • safeguarding

  • industry conduct

  • regulatory compliance

  • agency professionalism

BFMA members are regulated under the Conduct of Employment Agencies & Employment Businesses Regulations 2003 and follow strict codes governing their business activities.

Arch Agency Alignment With BFMA Standards

Arch Agency voluntarily adheres to:

  • the BFMA Code of Conduct

  • the BFMA Best Practice Guide

  • the BFC Code of Best Practice

  • industry‑standard safeguarding protocols

 

This includes:

 Safeguarding & Welfare

  • prioritising the health, safety, and wellbeing of all Talent

  • ensuring age‑appropriate work for minors

  • requiring guardian attendance for under‑16s

  • providing clear reporting routes for harassment or abuse

 

Ethical Representation

  • transparent contracts and booking processes

  • no coercion, exploitation, or unsafe working conditions

  • clear consent for nudity or significant image changes

  • responsible management of travel, accommodation, and working hours

 

Client Responsibilities

Arch Agency expects all clients to:

  • act ethically and respectfully

  • provide safe working environments

  • ensure appropriate facilities, breaks, and welfare provisions

  • avoid injurious practices (e.g., excessive flash exposure, overlong days)

  • provide insurance where required

  • ensure minors are chaperoned and protected
